                In sophomore World History, we will study, analyze, and discuss selected themes and topics concerning historic world events. The period covered in this class will be from the birth of democracy in Athens, Greece in 508 B.C. to the present. In this unit, we will survey the main events that lead to the rise of democracy starting with the Greeks and then transition into the Romans. We will then examine England’s developing monarchy and how that affected the power of the people.
